(1)  Unless it sooner ceases to be in force, a statutory rule published before a date specified in Column 1 below is repealed on the date specified opposite in Column 2—

(2)  Unless it sooner ceases to be in force, a statutory rule published on or after 1 September 1990 is repealed—

(a)  at the beginning of the day that is the fifth anniversary of the date on which it was published (in the case of a statutory rule published on 1 September in any year), or

(b)  at the beginning of 1 September following the fifth anniversary of the date on which it was published (in any other case).

(3)  This section does not apply in relation to the following statutory rules—

(a)  a regulation made under the Electricity Infrastructure Investment Act 2020,

(b)  a regulation that sets out management rules for marine parks or aquatic reserves made under the Marine Estate Management Act 2014.

(c)  the Road Rules 2014 made under the Road Transport Act 2013.
